Watermelon Festival

This weekend was the annual Watermelon Festival in Chipley. This was both Matt and Addison's first experience of the excitement. We didn't make it to much of the downtown festivities (WAY to HOT!!), but we did go and watch the parade. Thanks to my Uncle Ronnie, Aunt Jeanie and my cousin Duane, we had the perfect place to sit and enjoy it with lots of family. They even fed us some GREAT food afterwards!!

Gavin got to ride in the parade with his Dad.

Aunt Helen and Addison enjoying the parade from the porch.

The little ones were getting hungry.

Addison enjoyed licking a cold water bottle during the parade.

7 Months Old Today

It is going by so quickly. Addison is doing new things everyday. Her new favorite thing is rolling. She rolls everywhere. When she finds a toy she wants, she just rolls to it. It is really quite cute to watch. She is not yet crawling, but I see that to come soon. She is up on her knees rocking back and forth, so she is getting ready. Her tongue still amazes her. We call her our little lizard. She is doing a little better at night getting herself back to sleep with the paci. Her favorite sleeping position now is either on her stomach or her side, which I can't believe. It is so cute too because she has a little pool of drool when she wakes up. Addison also really likes bath time even more now that she can sit up and enjoy her toys in the tub. She is such a sweet baby and loads of fun!

Daddy is teaching her a new trick. We are so proud!

1st Father's Day

I heard a friend say something very true one time and I think it applies to today..... I am blessed and highly favored!! God has given me a wonderful family. I want to thank my wife and daughter for making it an awesome FIRST Father's Day. Thank you and I love you.

You might think I got a burger and fries as a special treat... and you would be correct. Actually my sister-in-law and my wife made a burger out of cupcake, brownies and icing and some fries out of sugar cookie dough!! It was delicious!!!

A Day during VBS

Day two of VBS is in the books for little Addison Rose. She has had so much fun these past two days. She is in her "class" with some new friends she's made over the past few months (even little cousin Logan). This is what goes on during the first part of her day.

After a morning of fun and learning about Jesus, Addie comes home for some much needed r&r. When I got home from work today, I got to get in the pool with Addie. She is growing up way too fast. She is already holding and eating pop sickles!!! I know, she thinks she is big stuff. Especially when she sees her cousin McKenzie doing it. Needless to say, we are left with a little clean-up when she is done. Fortunately the yellow stain on her skin came off pretty easily. Not a bad way to end a busy day.

After the pop sickle, and visiting the ducks at the pond, Addie and I made our way home to get a bath. She was playing in her car seat up until we were parking the car. I went to get her out and take her inside, and she was sound asleep. She didn't budge at all when I got her out of the car seat. We proceeded to get ready to take a bath, and I was sure that the sound of the water would wake her up. Wrong!!! Still no signs of waking up. I knew Mom would not be happy if I just put her in bed (and she really needed to get a bath anyway) so I put her in the tub and gave this child a bath as she slept peacefully among the soap and cascading water. It was pretty cute. I wouldn't trade any of it.

Getting Ready for Bed

Supper, bath, bedtime story, prayers and in bed. Will tonight be the night she finally sleeps??? Oh, do I pray it will be!!!

Water World Adventure

Wednesday, Addison and I went to Water World for the VBS Kickoff. Our church had the entire park to ourselves for the evening. She had a blast in the water at the park and was totally pooped when we left. It was a great day!

Morning Exercise

Addison decided she would get her exercise in today while mom was on the computer. She was underneath the chair using it as a pull up bar. She is still working on the speed factor, however. You will also notice that she decided to do some taste testing while she was there.

Favorite Faces

I guess you can say Addison has discovered her tongue and all it can do. She licks EVERYTHING now, and makes a really funny face with it. Too cute!

She also really likes to look and talk to herself in the mirror now. Her daddy will take her in the bathroom and play peek-a-boo in the mirror by turning the light on and off. She LOVES this game!
